The Sandbach School Catering Team

At Sandbach School we believe that one of the pre-requisites for effective learning is well fed students. We employ our own team of experienced chefs, bakers and food service assistants who, on a daily basis prepare delicious hot meals, freshly made sandwiches, home baked cakes and other treats at great value prices.

You can follow the team on twitter @SandbachFood for regular updates, photos and news of special events.

Cashless Catering

We operate a cashless catering system at Sandbach School which means that your child does not need to carry cash to buy food or drink, it also makes lunch times more efficient. All students are issued with a lunch card which can be topped up with credits at home via the My Child at School (MCAS) app from Bromcom. The pupil places their lunch card on the scanner and their account is debited.

Benefits:

  • Students are served more efficiently and queues are kept to a minimum
  • Complete confidentiality for students entitled to free school meals
  • No-one can purchase from another students account
  • Provides parents with knowledge that their child is eating at lunchtime

If your child has problems with their lunch card, make sure to speak to one of the catering team.

No Child Goes Hungry

We are immensely proud of the fresh, flavourful food which our team prepare and we have worked hard to deliver a menu which means that every student can “Eat Well” for just £3 per day.

All students are entitled to free toast at break and free portions of fruit are available at both break and lunch.

Freshly made sandwiches are available from as little as £1 and include “No Fuss” options such as plain home roasted ham.

If your child’s account has run out of credit, they will automatically be given an £8 overdraft to ensure that they can still purchase food and drink.

Menus

Menus run on a 3 week rotation and are refreshed every half term according to changes in seasonal food supplies. Menus include vegetarian and vegan options.

The menu for the forthcoming week is distributed to parents every Friday via the MCAS app.

We have regular theme days which encourage students to sample cuisines from around the world.

Allergies & Special Diets

Parents must notify the school if their child has any known allergies or special dietary requirements when they join the school. This information is linked to the students lunch card.

Students with special dietary requirements are invited to contact the catering team who are happy to adapt and change recipes where possible.
