This evening Sandbach School welcomed a new course to its collection with the introduction of the Cheshire Specialist Music Course, hosted at the school partnered with the Royal Northern College of Music and the Love Music Trust. Prospective students and parents alike were invited to join us for an overview of what the course has to offer, with a Q&A session at the end.
Sarah Burns, Headteacher providing he welcoming remarks and the pleasure of offering up such a new and rewarding course – one of the only of it’s kind the the UK! Course Director and Head of Music at Sandbach, Grace Barber, gave the summary of the course with expectations, commitments but also the rewards of the course. With many of our old Sandbachians going further on in life to perform at a variety of levels with what was already offered here put a new light on where our upcoming students may head.
Joining us with student and parents were also members of the Dolce Flute Quartet. A variety of pieces were played all studied at the RNCM to give the students a taste of what they might become. We were also joined by their Director of Performance, Manus Carey with comments on the new course.
Closing notes and future pathways were held by John Barber, Director of Love Music Trust.
