Tuesday 24th Janaury 2012 - Swimming Gala V Merchant Taylors’, Crosby
The 1st gala of the season saw the most competitive fixture for years against our opponents from Liverpool. Sandbach secured comfortable victories in the Year 9 & 10 matches but also suffered heavy defeats in Year 7 & 8. This meant that the overall result of the gala was to be decided by the outcome of the races in the senior division. Despite valiant effort from the Sandbach boys, Merchant Taylors’ had more strength in depth in the relay events and ultimately secured a well deserved victory.
Lots of potential for the rest of the season was shown by all who participated, well done!
