Peaks for Pudsey

Recently, Matthew Hall, an old boy of Sandbach School, was raising money for Children In Need. He undertook the Peaks for Pudsey challenge which involved walking 9 Lake District Peaks on Saturday 19th September and 15 Lake District Peaks on Sunday. Matthew walked a distance of 17.4 miles taking 12.5 hours on the first day. One of the highest peaks completed on day one was Scafell Pike, over 978m/3,208ft of ascent.

His second day consisted of 15 Peaks, 14.3 miles of walking over 10 hours, climbing up and over Helvellyn at 950m/3,116ft. This day took over 10 hours to complete.

Sandbach School are honoured to be able to help Matthew with his fund raising. We are holding a non-uniform day, Tuesday 13th Oct 2015 and all the proceeds from this day will be passed to Matthew. Matthew’s employer, Lloyds Banking Group, is also going to fund match everything that he is able to raise for Children In Need. As a school, we are hoping to raise over £1200 for Matthew. Children In Need helped over 480,000 children last year and we are proud to be able to help with their efforts in 2015/16.
